It’s time to break out the lighter colored suit for spring. Look to add light grey, taupe, tan, and grey blues to the wardrobe. Invest in a new suit if your closet is starting to look a little dark. Buying one in the lighter colors just brings that fresh look after a long winter of heavy fabrics and dark colors. Pair this with a new crisp white or light spring color shirt. In the stores now are light pink, pale blue, celery green and light yellow. The solid colored shirts are great for spring, think of Easter egg colors. It makes us even feel perky like the buds and flowers that are ready to pop. Spring is a time when things are fresh, think of this when choosing a tie to match. These fresh colors are great like icy grey, shimmering taupe or tan, pale yellow, light green and blue. Some of the classics that are a hit for spring are solid color ties on solid shirts. I’m also a fan of the muted patterns or the tone on tone in many different patterns. Some of the tone on tone or iridescent are stripes, paisley, checked or many other patterns. In this photo is a pocket handkerchief to compliment the tie. These can be purchased to match the tie perfectly or separately with a slight different pattern or color. Some pocket handkerchiefs have a couple colors sewn together to fold to display one, two or more colors at a time. Silk is best, with a beautiful color and feel to finish the look.
