Type the text here As the weather is getting cooler, it is a good time to review your jeans so you are ready for anything. Dark wash jeans compliment every body type and look more refined than lighter washes. They can be worn shopping, to sports events and other places where jeans are appropriate. Let’s look at a few styles to find the best for you. Unless you are very slender, skinny jeans will make you look wider since they are tight down the length of the leg. This shows off the width of your hips since there’s nothing to offset them on the lower portion of leg and at the ankle. “Mom” jeans are a huge no-no for everyone on the planet. These are the pants with a really high waist that creates a lot of room between the waist line and top of your leg. They’re usually a light or medium wash. They are extremely out of style and make everyone’s butt look long and large. Just don’t do it! Low rise jeans are only appropriate if your body fat percentage is 10% or lower. This is not a scientific calculation, just a studied observation. In other words, if you have any kind of muffin top or other such additional body portion, these show everything you’ve got and then some. Resist! Baggy jeans, jeans that are way too big for you make you look bigger than you are. We know you think they hide parts and thus, make you look slimmer but they actually do just the opposite. Additional fabric equals additional inches which give the illusion of additional pounds. Straight or wide leg jeans look great on the majority of body types and shapes. They flatter by creating a straight line from your hip to your foot. A medium rise completes the more sophisticated look these pants deliver. You’ll look great no matter what your size. The last but equally important component of jeans is the length. Pants should always reach to mid-heel of the shoe you’re wearing. This rule also applies to jeans. Unless you want to look frumpy, dowdy and way out of style, make sure the length is correct. High waters ruins any look no matter how great the rest of the outfit is. If you’re tall, shop at a store or website that sells long jeans. Our August newsletter addresses this. If you’ve been putting off getting rid of jeans that aren’t right for you anymore (or never were), think green. Jeans are now being recycled and made into home insulation which has a high R-Value. Reduce, reuse, recycle. It’s good for you and the environment! There are many, many brands of jeans that sell many different styles. If you need more guidance than we can write about here, feel free to call us. We’ll make sure you look fantastic in jeans that are perfect for you.
